Simply put, an adhesive will bond two types of materials together. This seems like a simple notion and you would think going to the store and buying such product is a very quick and simple thing to do.
The fact that the glue and adhesive aisle in any big box store contains soo many options. You will probably spend an hour reading all the descriptions and claims all the major and smaller companies make. How are you gonna choose the right product you will need? How can you choose something that will allow you to scale when you have to use a couple bottles at a time? The best thing to do, like every step in creating or designing. Is to test out the best options you end up choosing. Currently, there is a plethora of information online and youtube of folks testing out the adhesives so you wont have to do it yourself. However, this is still not going to help you choose and in fact, will not work give you the same outcome as you thought because chances are, they are testing on totally different types of materials then what you want to use.
Since I prefer to design using Wood. I can in fact attest for what works best in my case. Most likely, if you want to use wood as your medium to design. I would recommend you use E6000 Premium in the Red 2.0 fl oz tube.
It's all how you use the adhesive. What I mean is, you can apply a small amount of this product and wait 30 to 60 seconds to adhere your two pieces of wood. This makes a huge difference when applying and adhering wet. As this adhesive takes some time to become sticky and hold your materials together.
E6000 premium will last you a long time in its tube with the cap on. There are other adhesives that will evaporate or dry out when not in use. This is a huge plus.
With everything, there are some cons. It's not all smiles. The adhesive is stinky and does not recommend applying a huge amount without ventilation. If you are in a hurry, then it's also not your best option since the cure time is around 24 hours. Items will adhere and are workable in about 30 min. But you do run the chance of separating pieces and breaking the bond if not careful.
Despite the cons. I would suggest you give the adhesive a try. The bottle is fairly inexpensive and a great place to start your tests. I really hope you give it a try.
I make miniature to small wood item products and really like this adhesive for the bonding options. If you would like to view some of the outcomes follow the links below.
